New Patterson website allows utility bill pay

The City of Patterson’s new website includes the ability to pay utility bills online, Mayor Rodney Grogan said in an email.
Mayor Rodney Grogan has been promising residents the convenience of online bill payments along with other city payments for the past few months and the new website allows that promise to take its first step. The new website address is cityofpattersonla.gov, and it went online earlier this week, Kim Dardeau, city secretary, said.
“People have been requesting the ability to pay bills online,” Dardeau said. “It is the way a lot of people pay bills today … We are trying to make things more convenient for our citizens.”
The link to utility payments is near the top of the city’s home page in the left corner in a box entitled “Pay your utilities, taxes and police fines online.” While only utility payments are available online, the service will expand to other payments in the future, Dardeau said.
Internet Explorer 7 browsers or earlier must be updated to access the bill-paying feature.
