Owner of long-lost Morgan City class ring is grateful

The owner of 1970 Morgan City High School class ring found in Texas, says he is grateful to the finder for making the effort to return it to him.
Paul Ordogne, 63, who now lives near Albuquerque, New Mexico, said his daughter wants the class ring and was going to be in touch with Nancy Barnes, of Blue Ridge, Texas, was recently discovered the ring in a used dresser she purchased.
“I mean that’s very thoughtful of her to do something like that and to make all this effort to follow through,” Ordogne said. Ordogne is appreciative of Barnes’ efforts, he said. “It brings back a lot of memories for me, my good days in Morgan City,” he said. Ordogne’s mother, Marcelle Ordogne, still lives in Morgan City.
Barnes found Ordogne’s 1970 Morgan City High School class ring in used dresser bought in December 2013 from a St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Plano, Texas.
Barnes said she purchased a used dresser from St. Vincent de Paul in Plano, Texas, in December 2013. She then put the dresser in storage because she was building a house. Barnes recently took the dresser out of storage and into the house.
As she started taking out the drawers of the dresser in order to paint it, Barnes located a bank statement, a couple of greeting cards and a class ring, she said.
The bank statement in the drawer provided Barnes with the name of the owner of the ring, Paul Ordogne, who attended Morgan City High School graduating in 1970.
Earlier in the week, Barnes said her goal was “just to return this class ring to him if he wants it.”
