Photos, video, audio can be included on crime tips page

A new feature has been added to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Departments’ website that gives citizens the ability to upload photos, videos, audio and other files to the Crime Tips Form.
The form is located at http://stmaryso.com/crime_tip.php.
The feature is also available on the mobile version of the site for those who access the website from their mobile phone or tablet.
“The Sheriff’s Office is blessed to have such a great relationship with the community and receives many tips each month from citizens,” Sheriff Mark Hebert said. “Having the ability to upload photos, videos, audio and other files to the Crime Tips Form will enhance the public’s ability to assist the Sheriff’s Office in investigating or reporting a crime.”
A person has the choice of leaving a phone number or email address if they want to be contacted or may remain anonymous if they choose. In the event of an emergency or need of immediate assistance, please call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office at 337-828-1960 or 985-384-1622.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office website continues to grow in its popularity since launched in June 2014. With more than 600,000 visits so far in 2015 and an average of over 15,000 unique visitors each month it has become a model law enforcement website.
