Port commission given proposed budgets Tues.

West St. Mary Port Commissioners met Tuesday in regular session.
Executive Director David Naquin presented a proposed budget to the commission Tuesday.
Allain said the proposed amended budgets for the current fiscal year and the coming term are for commissioner review.
“All your tenants are current (on lease payments) as of today,” Allain noted. “We’re lacking a little on the sugar cane (leases) but should make that mark by Dec. 31.”
Dredging costs of $434,000 with engineering and aids to navigation at The Jaws was $22,000, with engineering.
He also reported that the industrial park bulkhead will be fitted with a 400 ton capacity bulkhead at no additional cost to the port commission. That is at the site on the Charenton Navigation and Drainage Canal. Bids should be advertised early next year.
