School leads fundraising for fire victims

J.S. Aucoin Elementary in Amelia is organizing a fundraiser and accepting donations for the two families who lost their home in a fire Saturday night.
Parents are being asked to allow their children to take part in a jeans day fundraiser during which students can wear jeans to school for a donation.
Items being requested include:
—Cash (minimum $1).
—Household supplies such as dishes, cookware and appliances.
—Blankets.
—Bedding.
Further, Principal Joe Stadalis sent a letter to other east-end schools asking them to host a jeans day fundraiser for $1 to benefit the families.
Stadalis said the community can drop off donations at the school during school hours.
