Seats still available at TAC event

Tickets are still available for Techeland Arts Council’s sneak-peak and fundraising event Saturday in advance of its spring production, “Last Bayou Passage.”
The event will be held at the Lamp Post on Main Street in Franklin and begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar and silent auction.
A special musical event will occur intermittently during cocktails and dinner, followed by one scene from “Last Bayou Passage” written by Sue Davis Stouff and Roger Emile Stouff.
A live auction featuring a vacation beach house stay, a bed & breakfast and dining package, and one-of-a kind items will follow dinner.
“Last Bayou Passage” is set near the end of the steamboat era in south Louisiana and beyond. This is the story of one of those paddle wheelers making its final journey down Bayou Teche. The story takes up in Jeanerette as the boat journeys to Berwick where she will be refitted with the new diesel engines of the time. Along the way, the crew, their longtime captain and the new master of the boat explore their memories, friendships and the family they have become over the many years they have made this passage through the fabled Teche Country.
The show will be presented at the Teche Theatre April 29 and 30 and May 1-3.
For the fundraiser, tables that seat eight people are available for a donation of $500, or $125 per couple, or $62.50 per person.
