Sheriff: Siracusaville man facing battery charge

A 38-year-old Siracusaville man, accused of striking a woman in the face with a bag Feb. 15, was charged with aggravated battery Thursday, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Shaddrick Neddie, 38, of the 1300 block of James Street in Siracusaville, was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for aggravated battery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Neddie turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on a parole violation sanction to serve time.
During the booking process, a jailer conducted a standard warrants check and found that Neddie was wanted on the active warrant.
The deputy assigned to the complaint learned that Neddie became angry with a woman while the two were at a residence in Siracusaville, Hebert said. Neddie struck the female victim in the face with a large bag causing her to fall to the ground before taking her vehicle without her permission, the sheriff said. No bail is set.
Hebert reported responding to 37 complaints in the parish and reports the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Nathan Lovell, III, 21, of the 100 block of Riverview Drive in Patterson, at 4:57 p.m. Thursday on a Patterson Police Department warrant for possession of stolen property. A deputy was notified by Patterson Police of the active warrant for Lovell’s arrest. Lovell was located at his residence, jailed and released on $500 bail.
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Mark Griffin Jr. reported the following arrests:
—Lisa B. Raymond, 47, of Chennault Street in Morgan City, at 8:25 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for the 6th Ward Court of Morgan City on the charge of failure to appear and on a Bay County, Florida, warrant for failure to appear on the charge of attempted possession of cocaine.
Raymond was located on Allison Street and was transported to Morgan City Police Department and jailed.
—Terrance Ballet, 20, of Bud Street in Franklin, at 8:44 p.m. Thursday on the charges of driving under suspension and improper turning, and a warrant charging him with speeding/driving under suspension.
An officer observed a vehicle conduct an improper turn in the area of Third Street and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver. The driver, Ballet, was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was jailed.
—Harold Bias, 25, of Adams Street in Morgan City, at 12:03 a.m. today on the charges of driving under suspension and speeding.
An officer on Federal Avenue near Terrebonne Street observed a speeding vehicle and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver, Bias, was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. He was jailed.
—Kyle McClendon, 21, of Vancleave, Mississippi, at 2:31 a.m. today on the charge of reckless operation of a vehicle.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner near the intersection of La. 182 and Cottonwood Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as McClendon. According to reports, the vehicle was traveling in excess of 70 mph in a 35 mph speed zone. McClendon was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
