Suspect caught in stabbing at Franklin McD’s

A fugitive described as armed and dangerous by local law enforcement authorities is now in custody after he was apprehended after over two weeks on the run.
Monday at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Franklin Police Department received information from a fellow law enforcement agency regarding fugitive Harold Verdin being at a residence in Carville, La.
Verdin was wanted in connection with a stabbing two weeks ago at the McDonald’s in Franklin. Verdin allegedly got into an altercation with his ex-girlfriend which ended with a violent confrontation and he fled the scene.
The information was passed on to the United States Marshal’s Task Force. At approximately 1:15 p.m., the United States Marshals’ Task Force located Verdin at a residence on Monroe Lane in Carville. Verdin was processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center with a bond of $400,000.
