Vehicle overturns on La. 87

At 6:07 a.m. Saturday the Franklin Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance, Franklin Police and St. Mary Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of an overturned vehicle on La. 87 near Eastwood Subdivision. Fire Chief Chuck Bourgeois said the vehicle operated by Ernest Pontiff, 57, of, 103 Robicheaux Lane, Franklin, was reportedly traveling east on La. 87 when it ran off the road and flipped end-over-end in the drainage ditch. Pontiff was not injured, Bourgeois said.
