An accident after Franklin’s Mardi Gras parade injured a woman when she fell from a parade trailer.
Revelers danced into the wee hours today at glitzy balls, kicking off the annual Mardi Gras bash that spills costumed merrymakers into the streets of New Orleans for partying, parades and trinkets
Predictions of nasty weather Monday and on Fat Tuesday itself prompted Houma authorities to move three parades scheduled on those days up to Sunday, so four were rolling.
Because of the predicted 60 percent chance of rain today, the Krewe of Amani rescheduled its parade for 4 p.m. Saturday, Mayor Rodney Grogan said in a news release.
The Krewe of Dionysus will hold its annual Carnival ball at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Berwick Civic Complex. Bidding farewell will be King and Queen Dionysus Doug and Mamie Perry.
