School bus driver treated for minor injuries

The driver of a school bus in Morgan City was treated for minor injuries Friday after a pickup truck hit the bus near the intersection of Fifth and Greenwood streets.
At about 3 p.m. Friday, a school bus carrying students from Morgan City High and Morgan City Junior High was traveling south on Fifth Street when a pickup truck ran a stop sign striking the bus, Morgan City Police Capt. Teddy Liner said.
The school bus driver was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and released from the hospital. No students were transported to the hospital, Liner said.
The driver of the pickup truck, Herman Hartman, 71, of Morgan City was cited for a stop sign violation.
