The right lane of U.S. 90 will be closed Wednesday in the eastbound and westbound directions for routine bridge inspections, according to a Department of Transportation and Development news release.
As of about 8 a.m. Wednesday, Morgan City police officers were also responding to a multi-car crash on U.S. 90 bridge eastbound. Police advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.
This work is estimated to take place from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., weather permitting.
The area of inspection will be on U.S. 90 from just east of its intersection with La. 70 to just past the Martin Luther King Exit near Roderick Street. Permit vehicles should not be impacted by this lane closure.
