Local qualifying set next week

Candidate qualifying for the Nov. 4 local elections will take place Aug-20-22 at the Clerk of
Court’s office in Franklin.
The clerk’s office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day of qualifying.
Offices to be filled and the respective fees are:
—School board: $115 for no party affiliation, $230 for Democrats and $201.25 for Republicans.
—Baldwin mayor, aldermen and police chief and Berwick mayor and council: $40 for no party affiliation, $80 for Democrats and $70 for Republicans.
—Patterson mayor, council and police chief: $75, no party affiliation, $150 for Democrats and $131.25 for Republicans.
—16th Judicial District judge, $300 for no party affiliation, $600 for Democrats and $525 for Republicans.
—District attorney, $225 for no party affiliation, $450 for Democrats and $393.75 for Republicans.
—Morgan City and Franklin city court judges and marshals, and justices of the peace and constables, $75 for no party affiliation, $150 for Democrats and $131.25 for Republicans.
Qualifying fees must be paid in cash, certified check, cashier’s check or money order. Personal checks cannot be accepted.
