TDT volunteers needed

Franklin will host its portion of Tour du Teche Saturday, Oct. 4 along the Bayou Teche.
Volunteers are needed from all walks of life—parents, students, athletes, members of fraternal organizations, active-duty military and veterans just to name a few. All volunteers will receive a meal voucher and a T-shirt. Volunteers must sign up by Aug. 29 at noon. There will be a volunteer meeting Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Organizers of Tour du Teche are asking residents who live along the route to cheer on the paddlers as they come down the Bayou Teche.
According to the organizers, the racers really enjoy hearing cow bells and cheering and seeing homemade signs as they make their way down the bayou. The City of Franklin is encouraging its citizens to make noise and welcome the paddlers along the bayou and at Parc Sur La Teche, beginning at 5 p.m.
