Art Walk is Saturday; financial seminar slated

The Fifth Annual Art Walk is Saturday from 3-6 p.m., and the City of Franklin is asking all attendees to wear white or a commemorative T-shirt.
Commemorative Art Walk T-shirts and tote bags can be ordered at the Office of Community Development prior to the event and will be available for purchase at Chic and Shabby Collections the day of the Art Walk.
T-shirts are $15 for sizes up to extra-large and $20 for sizes double extra-large and larger.
The tote bags are $5 each. Free fans, listing the venues, artists and authors, will be available at Shadowlawn and Argus Spa.
Alfred Hill, Ajah Diggs, Michelle Bradley and Joe Mitchell will entertain art lovers at the Hanagriffs’ Lot next to Floors Etc. from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to stop by and enjoy the music. Music enthusiasts are encouraged to bring a chair to sit and listen to the band and to dance when they hear “their song.”
Guests can visit each of the talented artists and authors for this year’s event. The asterisk indicates an author.

Residents also still have time to sign up for the first “Fiscal Fitness” seminar, “Investing,” taught by Lyle and Victoria Simoneaux of Edward Jones, Aug. 27 at the Alex P. Allain Memorial Branch of the St. Mary Parish Library from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Register for this and all seminars in the Office of Community Development and by e-mail. Registration will end when the seminars are full. The maximum for each seminar is 15 people. Registration can be done in person or by e-mail. Enrollment is done on a first-come-first-served basis according to the time and date on the e-mail. You will receive an e-mail confirming your enrollment or that you’ve been placed on the waiting list.

September 24: “Life Insurance” presented by Chip Purpera of State Farm Insurance
October 1: “Paying for College” presented by Kelly Knight of South Louisiana Community College
