Former FFH CEO Templeton named to ‘rising stars’ listing

Parker Templeton, president and chief operating officer of Iberia Medical Center, has been named as one of the nation’s “rising stars” in health care leadership by Becker’s Hospital Review, a monthly publication that provides up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems.
The annual list highlights the early professional success that the 25 health care leaders have found – before they turned 40. The men and women included on this year’s list have demonstrated excellence in their organizations and professional lives before turning 40. Though they have already reached great professional heights, these “rising stars” are poised for continued growth and considerable success for the rest of their careers. Templeton is the only CEO from Louisiana to be included on the list.
“We are proud to have Parker honored with such a distinguished group of individuals,” said Dr. James B. Falterman Jr., chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Iberia Medical Center. “It’s an honor he earned through consistent efforts to find innovative and efficient processes for providing patient-centered, compassionate care to our community. In the 11 months that Parker has been at our facility, he’s made great strides in moving the hospital forward to meet the challenges of a very rapidly changing health care market.”
Templeton joined Iberia Medical Center in September 2013. Prior to that he served as CEO of Franklin Foundation Hospital and CEO/Administrator of Iberia Rehabilitation Hospital. He is a board certified health care executive, obtaining fellowship status in the American College of Healthcare Executives and received the Regent’s Award – Early Career Healthcare Executives from Louisiana ACHE in 2013. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Louisiana Hospital Association since 2012.
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selects the leaders through peer nominations and editorial research. All leaders were under 40 years old at time of their nomination earlier in 2014.
