School supply drive

Reigning Miss Community Action Agency Jalisa Stewart says she believes it is a privilege to serve the community in any way possible.
Stewart, a future Head Start parent, said she takes seriously her role as Miss CAA and has made it her mission to promote St. Mary Community Action Agency.
With the help of friends, family and church members, Stewart initiated a School Supply Drive for Head Start Students and their families.
Stewart received support from area residents, including Little Jerusalem church member Lisa Webb who donated a $50 check for the drive. These acts of kindness made it easy to see that when the community works together, anything is possible.
Supplies such as hand soap, tissue, paper towel, crayons, color markers, scissors, writing paper, pens, pencils, glue, school uniforms and other important supplies were donated to help less fortunate Head Start students and families. Stewart said that without the support of friends, immediate family and church members none of this would be possible.
“Thoughtful gestures like these should not go unnoticed,” said St. Mary CAA- Head Start Chief Executive Officer Almetra J. Franklin. “We appreciate all the supplies that have been collected for our Head Start students, and we are proud to call Jalisa Stewart a member of our Head Start Family.”
