President’s Day, Mardi Gras closings

All federal, state and parish offices, including the Postal Service, will be closed for Presidents’ Day on Monday.
Although open for Presidents’ Day, Patterson City Hall will close from approximately 2 p.m. until the end of the Krewe of Amani Lundi Gras Parade that begins at 2 p.m. at Patterson High School.
On Fat Tuesday, all municipal and parish offices will be closed. Also closed Tuesday will be both branches of the Morgan City Post Office and no routes will be delivered.
The Amelia Post Office will not have residential delivery Mardi Gras day, however the window will be open from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Berwick Post Office window hours that day are 8 a.m. to noon, and there will be no residential delivery.
Patterson’s Post Office will have residential delivery on Fat Tuesday, but window hours will be limited to 8 a.m. to noon.
The Harold J. “Babe” Landry Landfill in Berwick will close at noon on Monday and Tuesday. Due to the early closures, the Morgan City Sanitation Department will begin route collections on Monday at 4 a.m. The City asks residents to put cans by the street Sunday night.
Morgan City will not collect routes on Tuesday, however, Tuesday’s routes will be picked up on Wednesday. Normal operations resume on Thursday.
Progressive Waste Solutions will collect routes as scheduled, but may run earlier than usual.
The Daily Review will work abbreviated hours for the Carnival holiday. The office will close early on Friday and Fat Tuesday.
Due to the abbreviated schedule, news and advertising deadlines will be earlier than usual. Delivery may also be earlier than usual in some locations.
