Morgan City police monthly report
The Morgan City Police Department responded to 1,037 complaints in February, according to Assistant Police Chief Mark Griffin Jr.
Forty-five traffic accidents involved four cases of driving while intoxicated and resulted in eight injuries and no fatalities.
Other charges levied during the month include: Aggravated assault, two; aggravated battery, one; attempted murder, two; child desertion, one; contempt of court, three; contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, one; criminal damage to property, three; criminal mischief; driving while intoxicated, fighting, 18; driving while intoxicated, four; fail to appear (bench warrant), 21; hit and run, one; holds for other departments, nine; misuse of 911 services, one; obscenity, one; open container, two; parole/probation violation, two; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one; possession of a firearm on school property, one; remaining where forbidden, two; resisting an officer, five; simple assault, two; simple battery, three; simple battery on an officer, one; simple battery domestic, two; telephone harassment, one; theft misdemeanor, five; traffic violation, 31.
