Three people injured in Berwick crash
Three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries as a result of a three-vehicle car crash that occurred Monday afternoon after a Volkswagen Bug ran a red light in Berwick, Police Chief James Richard said.
The three-vehicle wreck happened at 4:43 p.m. Monday at the intersection of La. 182 and Pattie Drive in Berwick, Richard said. A 2004 Volkswagen Bug was traveling east on La. 182 when the vehicle ran a red light, turning left onto Pattie Drive, and struck a 2003 Buick Century broadside, Richard said. The wreck then caused the Volkswagen to strike a 2006 Dodge pickup, which was stopped at the red light, Richard said. Three people involved in the crash were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Richard said.
The driver of the Volkswagen Bug, Shanna Roussel, 17, of Berwick, was cited for a red light violation. Roussel was uninjured, Richard said.
