City partners with Relay For Life in lamp decorating contest
The City of Franklin and the Relay for Life committee are having a lamppost decorating contest.
Contestants will be judged on how well they express the theme “Sending Cancer to Neverland” and the use of the color purple. The lampposts will be judged May 29, and the winners will be announced May 30 at the Relay for Life event at Franklin Senior High School.
Entry forms, which contain the rules of the contest, will be available April 6 at City Hall. The entry fee is $10 and will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Contestants can begin decorating April 27 and decorating ends May 27. Lampposts will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. Additionally, all decorated lampposts must have the name of the person, business, organization or school that is participating as a part of the display. Decorations must be removed by June 5.
