ELAINE MARIE PROVOST

October 29, 1949 — March 12, 2015
Elaine Marie Provost, of Navarre, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was born Oct. 29, 1949, in Marksville, Louisiana, to the late Burton and Earline Bordelon, and stepfather, the late Burt Ross. She lived in Morgan City, Louisiana, and Hattiesburg, Mississippi, before settling in the Florida Panhandle.
She moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, in 1986 and shortly thereafter started work as Dr. Friedman’s receptionist at White Wilson Medical Center.
In 1988, she married Jeffery A. Provost and became an Air Force wife. She was able to enjoy living in England for three years and travel through Europe. Elaine is best known for her outgoing personality and “never met a stranger” outlook on life. Throughout her life, she has left an indelible impression on family and friends she came into contact with by showing love and compassion.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffery A. Provost of Navarre, Florida; her daughter, Melissa Broussard and husband, Kirk, of Morgan City; and her son, Percy Bergeron IV and wife, Christy, of San Antonio, Texas. Elaine had four granddaughters, Katelyn, Emily, Claire and Abby. She is also survived by her stepson, Jeffery A. Provost Jr. and his two girls, Ella and Lily; and three sisters, Karen Nicar, Paula Sylvester and Alice Ross.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Earline Bordelon Ross; father, Burton Bordelon; and stepfather, Burt Ross.
A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will begin at 1 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home, followed by graveside services in the Morgan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
