RUBY B. MARTIN

Funeral services for Ruby B. Martin, will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Ibert’s Mortuary at 11 a.m., with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 9 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Ruben Primor will conduct the services.
Ms. Ruby was a native of Franklin and a longtime resident of Centerville. She passed away peacefully at the age of 86, on Monday, April 6, 2015, at the Franklin Foundation Hospital.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Ms. Ruby was a retired bus driver for the St. Mary Parish School Board system and she was also the co-owner of Martin Seafood, where so many people remember her.
Survivors include her son, Greg Martin and his wife, Shirley; two sisters, Rita B. Lanclos and Hazel B. Tardiff; six grandchildren, Brenda Martin Kinsella, Michael Shane Martin, Curtis Martin, Clifford Martin, Chad Martin and Deirdre “DD” Martin; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell J. Martin Sr.; two sons, Darrell J. Martin Jr. and Dana Ray Martin; her parents, Joseph and Lydia Pichoff Burke; four brothers, Dewey, Preston, Curtis and Berlyn Burke; one sister, Ruth B. Theriot; and one great grandson, Casey Martin.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Martin, Clifford Martin, Jimmie Joe “Jap” Rineholt, Myron Burke, Chad Gage and Randall Curry.
