Boat show, other events canceled

Weather has prompted cancellations of some planned events this weekend.
The Bayou Teche Wooden Boat Show has been called off due to the weather.
Organizers of the sixth annual event say the threat of thunderstorms and the fact that participants were unable to attend led to the decision.
The show may be rescheduled. More information will be forthcoming if another date is set.
The Bayou Teche Black Bear Festival is set to go on as scheduled Friday through Sunday.
However, a rummage sale set this weekend by St. Mary Community Action Agency has been canceled.
The St. Mary Special Olympics has also been canceled. It was set for today at West St. Mary High School.
