FFD slates garage sale for Relay event

The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department will hold “The Great Garage Sale for Relay For Life’ on Saturday May 9 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Fire Station 2 on Iberia Street.
Franklin firefighters and local American Cancer Society volunteers host this annual event as their primary fund raising activity for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life scheduled for May 30.
The fire department is seeking donations from the community to make this event a success. Anyone having re-sellable clothing, house hold items, toys or furniture is encouraged to bring them to Station 1 at 512 First St. If you have larger items or need assistance, call the station at 337-828-6328.
The fire department is also accepting Mardi Gras beads and throws for recycling. It is spring cleaning time. A donation is tax deductible and supports a worthwhile cause.
On May 9 Fire Station 2 will be completely filled with new and used clothing, furniture, household items and toys. According to Franklin Volunteer Fire Department President Toddy Boudreaux, “Everything must go and all reasonable offers will be accepted.”
