Frederick resigns from Baldwin board

Baldwin Board of Aldermen member Thor Frederick is resigning.
In correspondence to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office, Frederick cited health problems that have caused her to miss several meetings. She said, “I cannot foresee things changing or getting easier.”
Frederick was elected to her second term last fall.
“This tears at my heart because the people of Baldwin have been my rock and support for more years than I care to count,” Frederick wrote. “I want everyone to know that I am still here and my door will always be open to everyone.”
There will be a special meeting Tuesday, April 28 at 6 p.m. when the mayor and board will consider an appointment to fill Frederick’s seat until an election can be held this fall.
