Local officials gathered recently to sign proclamations recognizing May 2-10 as National Travel and Tourism Week. The proclamation notes that travelers to St. Mary Parish generate $159.5 million in annual spending, provide for 1,690 jobs with a $33.8 million payroll and pay $2.71 million in local taxes.
