Berwick seniors graduate Thursday night

Berwick High School will hold graduation ceremonies at 7 p.m. Thursday at Geisler Stadium.
Leading commencement will be valedictorians Taylor Fegenbush, Levi Porter, Shelby Bergeron, Rennen Delatte, Nathaniel Furlette, Allis Armato, Madison Dupre, Vroni Claire Parsiola, Cari Powell and Shannon Theriot.
Below are Berwick High School’s 4.0 students:
Fegenbush, the son of Jeffrey and Buffy Fegenbush, was an active member of Quiz Bowl, Future Business Leaders of America, BETA Club, drama, powerlifting team and the Sound of Pride band, through which he participated in both district and parish honor bands.
Fegenbush was selected for Boys’ State during the summer of his junior year and was an LSU Overall State Literary Rally winner and Berwick High School Student of the Year his senior year. In the fall, Fegenbush plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to major in Computer Science and Software Design.
Porter, the son of the Rev. Steven and Sally Porter, was an active member of BETA, Foreign Language, Future Business Leaders of America and Acts of Random Kindness. In the fall, Porter plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to major in moving image arts. Porter was also on the tennis team.
Bergeron, the daughter of Darren and Angela Bergeron, was an active member of Student Council, BETA, Acts of Random Kindness, Powerlifting, Future Business Leaders of America and was a Berwick High cheerleader. She was chosen for the All-District Softball team for four years and All-State Academic Composite Softball her senior year. Bergeron placed third in the state in Division III powerlifting her senior year. In the fall, Bergeron will attend Louisiana College on a softball scholarship while majoring in business.
Delatte, the daughter of Mike and Alison Delatte, has been a member of the student council, BETA, Drama, and Acts of Random Kindness clubs. She was a four-year member of the volleyball and softball teams, receiving district honors. She was a member of the Academic All-State Volleyball and Softball teams. She was also a member of the powerlifting team her senior year. She plans to attend LSU in the fall and major in kinesiology.
Furlette, the son of Jim and Kathy Furlette. was a percussionist in the Sound of Pride. In athletics, he was on the tennis team and competed at the state level. In the fall, he plans to attend LSU and major in microbiology.
Armato, the daughter of John and Nicol Armato. participated in several clubs such as BETA, Key Club, Student Council, Acts of Random Kindness, Drama, HOSA and Foreign Language. She also attended Louisiana Youth Seminar her junior and senior years. Armato was an active member of the tennis team and a Berwick High cheerleader. In the fall, Armato plans to attend LSU to major in pre-nursing or kinesiology.
Dupre, the daughter of Daniel and Kimberly Dupre, was an active member of the Acts of Random Kindness, lettered in basketball, and was a member of the Sound of Pride band. In the fall, Dupre will attend Nicholls State to major in math with a concentration in education.
Parsiola, the daughter of Lisa and Charlie Parsiola, was involved in BETA, Foreign Language, Drama, Student Council, Key Club and Acts of Random Kindness Club. She was a member of the tennis team for four years. Parsiola was the 2012 LHSAA Doubles State Champion and 2013 LHSAA Doubles state runner-up. She was chosen for the tennis Academic All-State Composite team her senior year and attended Louisiana Youth Seminar the summer of her junior year. In the fall, she plans to attend LSU to major in mechanical engineering.
Powell, the daughter of Robert and Janet Powell, was a member of the Insight Club, BETA Club and track team. She was chosen to be a part of the girls’ track Academic Composite All-Star team. Powell was president of the Drama Club and drum major of the Berwick High Sound of Pride. She was a returning member of the Parish and District Honor bands, and made the All-State Honor Band her senior year. Powell will attend the University of Arkansas to major in applied math and minor in Spanish.
Theriot, the daughter of Scott Theriot and Jill Tamporello, has been active in BETA Club, Acts of Random Kindness, Key Club, Student Council and HOSA Club.
In athletics, she participated in softball all four years, soccer her freshman year, track her sophomore year, and football her senior year. For softball, she earned First Team All-District all four years, offensive MVP and All-State Honorable Mention for her freshman year, and District MVP and All-State First Team her junior year.
In the fall, she will attend the Louisiana-Lafayette on a softball scholarship and major in biology/pre-med.
