Franklin All-Stars finish as District 3-AAA runnerup

The Franklin 10-year-old All-Stars will advance to the North Regional Tournament in Winnsboro after finishing as the 2015 District 3-AAA Tournament runnerup Monday at Caffery Park.
St. Mary Central strung together a flawless 4-0 record to win the 2015 District 3-AAA Championship. SMC earned a berth in the South Regional which will be play in Ponchatoula over the weekend.
Franklin, which finished with a 3-1 record in the district tourney, gained a berth in the North Regional Tournament with its runnerup finish in the District 3-AAA tournament.
In Monday’s final games in the 10s Tournament, Morgan City beat Patterson 5-4 and Franklin won over Thibodaux 16-11 to become runner up in the tournament.
SMC came out first in the District 3-AAA tournament followed by Franklin (3-1), Thibodaux (2-2), Patterson (1-3) and Morgan City (0-4).
In the District 3 – Majors Tournament, Morgan City captured the 2015 Championship with a perfect 4-0 record. In Monday’s 12s Tournament, Morgan City beat SMC 6-1. Morgan City finished as champions with SMC finishing as runner up. Patterson beat Thibodaux 14-2 in the last game.
The final standings for the 12s Tournament were: Morgan City, 4-0; SMC, 2-2; Franklin, 2-2; Patterson, 2-2 and Thibodaux, 0-4.
