LT. HENRY LEE ‘BIG DARB’ DARBY JR.
Lieutenant Henry Lee “Big Darb” Darby Jr., 49, a native of Verdunville and a resident of Franklin, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at 3:15 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Visitation, with the Armed Forces Honor Guard, was observed on Saturday August 8, from 11 a.m. until funeral services began at 2 p.m., at the Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin, with the Rev. Carl F. Lewis officiating the service. Burial followed services in the Nazarene Cemetery in Franklin (Verdunville).
Memories of “Big Darb,” as he was known to many, will forever be cherished in the heart of his daughters, Reva Lightfoot of Franklin, Anastasia Boyd of Lake Charles, Le’azha Booker of Texas and Dahlia Darby of Centerville; his son, Quintus Williams of Centerville; one sister, Jessica Darby-Johnson (Allen Jr.) of St. Joseph; a step-sister, Charlotte Woods of Patterson; one aunt, Celestine Favors of Verdunville; two uncles, Lynwood Darby Sr. (Judy) of Patterson and Louis Darby of Franklin; his former spouse, Deidra W. Darby of Centerville; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. Darby Sr. and Jean Thomas Darby; two sisters, Rena A. Callaway and Vicki L. Darby; two nephews, Arron Johnson Jr. and Russell Gunner Jr.; six uncles and one aunt.
