TRIS EVANS MATTHEWS

Tris Evans Matthews, 48, a native of Lafayette and a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2015 at 8:10 a.m., at his parents’ residence in Morgan City.
Visitation will be observed on Friday, September 4, at the New Zorah Baptist Church in Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Terry L. Joseph Sr. will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Tris leaves to cherish wonderful memories; three sons, Lazurus Madison and Dayton Madison, both of Jeanerette, and Tris Madison of Franklin; one daughter, Tristine Madison of Jeanerette; his loving and devoted parents, Timothy Matthews Sr. and Joyce Harris-Matthews of Morgan City; five brothers, Timothy Matthews Jr. and Kerry Matthews, both of Morgan City, Donald Matthews of Phoenix, AL, Daniel Matthews of New Orleans, and John Matthews of Berwick; one sister, Mrs. Eugene (Terri Matthews)-Foulcard of Franklin; five grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one brother.
