Fit, Fun and Fabulous in Franklin will take place the first Thursday in October, just six days away on Oct. 1, in support of several initiatives: Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Respiratory Awareness Month, Fire Safety Month and Drug Free Month.
Franklin Foundation Hospital and Teche Action Clinic are working with local organizations and agencies to promote wellness and Franklin’s downtown from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Medical agencies such as the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association and American Diabetes Association will be paired with local businesses.
The instructors of Anytime Fitness of Franklin will host fitness demonstrations at Shadowlawn.
The Teche Theatre for the Performing Arts will be the site for women’s health presentations, and the Lamp Post will have men’s health presentations.
Children’s activities will be held at the Hanagriff’s lot.
Special events such as the Walk a Mile for Christ, Tug-of-War between the Franklin Fire Department and the Franklin Police Department, Cupid Shuffle dance challenge and the Chez Hope candlelight vigil will be held at Franklin Senior High School’s football stadium, beginning at 5 p.m.
City Market will be open for parking.
