Suspect at large after stabbing in Franklin *UPDATE*

Franklin Police are searching for a potentially dangerous fugitive on the loose after a man stabbed his ex-girlfriend at the McDonalds in Franklin yesterday and fled the scene.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire said officers responded to the incident at approximately 5:45 p.m. and found the victim, Angela Abraham of 800 Canal Drive in Jeanerette, had suffered multiple stab wounds at the hands of Harold Verdin of Houma.
Verdin, described by the FPD as a Native American male with brown eyes and short brown hair weighing 210 pounds., 5-foot 7-inches tall and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, fled the scene in a truck and is believed to still be in the vicinity.
McGuire said Abraham had a protective order against Verdin who had made threats in the past to do her harm. Abraham suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack and was transported to Franklin Foundation Hospital in critical condition.
McGuire said Verdin should be considered dangerous but not armed as he dropped the knife he used in the attack at the scene. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect has been urged to contact the Franklin Police Department at 337-828-1716.
Harold Verdin could possibly be in one of the following vehicles: a 2012 GMC pick-up, brown in color, license plate LA C226504, or a 2001 GMC pick-up, gray in color, license plate LA X536941.
