Wind knocks down power pole

Morgan City police and firefighters and utility crews were called out late this morning when strong wind blew down a utility pole at Railroad and Grizzaffi streets in Morgan City. The downed lines were a small taste of what is expected to be more high wind later today, when a cold front pushes a squall line ahead of it through the region. Severe storms are possible, and the National Weather Service has issued flash flood and coastal flooding advisories.
