Harrison out; Rogers, Mathews win

Rep. Joe Harrison, Dist. 51, lost his seat to a challenger in Saturday’s election.
Harrison was defeated by Beryl Adams Amadee. The vote was 1,109 to 1,013. Both candidates are Republican.
St. Mary Parish Council Dist. 1’s seat was garnered by Craig A. Mathews, 1,049 votes, against Patrice Rodgriguez Picard, 771 votes. Both candidates are Democrats.
Incumbent Franklin City Council member Dale Rogers took the Dist. 3 seat with 1,006 votes over Rodney P. Olander, with 933 votes. Rogers is a Democrat, Olander a Republican.
Voters approved a 2 mils tax in Fire Protection Dist. 1 by a vote of 32-13, and a 9 mills tax for Recreation Dist. 3 by 395 to 337.
Lewis Pittman is the new 16th Judicial District Court Judge in Div. D. He gathered 18,111 votes against Eddie Guidry’s 16,366. Both are Republicans.
