CFA nominations deadline Dec. 9

The deadline to submit nominations for Community Foundation of Acadiana’s (CFA) 2016 Leaders in Philanthropy (LIP) Awards is by close of business Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Applications should be completed online at www.cfacadiana.org/2016LIPNominations.
Leaders in Philanthropy Awards are presented to outstanding individuals or couples across CFA’s eight-parish service area who have made a philanthropic impact in their communities through substantial charitable contributions or by attracting substantial contributions. An award recipient will be chosen from each of the eight parishes if nominations allow. (CFA’s primary service area includes the parishes of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion.)
One or more Corporate Awards will also be presented to a corporation that has made a philanthropic impact through substantial charitable contributions in at least one of the above-mentioned parishes. The Corporate Award winners need not be headquartered in Acadiana.
Nominees do not need to be fund owners at CFA nor contributors to the Foundation in order to be selected for an award. CFA’s past board of directors will review and choose the award recipients for all parishes, except for Iberia and St. Mary. CFA has affiliates in those parishes with local boards of directors who will review and choose their parish’s award selections. Once selections are made, a final list will be submitted to CFA’s board of directors for final approval. Recipients will be selected in February and will be presented with awards at the sixth-annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon in November 2016.
The purpose of CFA’s annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon is to honor outstanding area philanthropists, increase awareness of the value of philanthropy and to educate the public about CFA and its mission across its eight parish service area.
