Sheriff: Man broke Christmas ornament while trespassing

A 34-year-old Bayou Vista man was jailed this morning after he tried to break into a home and broke a Christmas ornament in the process, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Corey Leblanc, 34, of the 100 block of Lagonda Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:39 a.m. today on charges of criminal trespass, simple criminal damage to property, and disturbing the peace by intoxication.
A deputy assigned to patrol the Bayou Vista area responded to a call of a trespasser in the vicinity of Landry Lane. The trespasser was identified as Leblanc. During the investigation, the deputy determined that Leblanc showed signs of intoxication, attempted to gain entry into a home and broke a Christmas ornament in the process, Hebert said. Leblanc was jailed with bail set at $2,000.
Hebert reported responding to 41 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Caffery Williams, 50, of the 400 block of Garber Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:03 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failing to appear on the charge of driving under suspension and improper lane usage. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed the driver of a vehicle commit several traffic infractions and conducted a traffic stop on La. 182, Hebert said.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Williams, and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Williams was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Alton M. Kemp, 29, of Verdun Lane in Centerville, was arrested at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with telephone harassment. Kemp was transported from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. Kemp was booked and later released on bail.
—Jasmine R. Broussard, 25, of Maple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for probation violation. Broussard was already incarcerated in the Morgan City jail, when a warrant was filed by the 6th Ward City Court for probation violation. Broussard remains in jail.
—Allen C. Lennep, 59, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for probation violation. Lennep was already incarcerated in the Morgan City jail when the 6th Ward City Court issued a warrant for probation violation. Lennep remains in jail.
—Russell Blanchard, 28, of Perro Lane in Berwick, was arrested at 2:04 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with simple battery.
Blanchard turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant for simple battery. Blanchard was booked and later released on bail.
—Rebecca J. Demarco, 44, of Verret Street in Amelia, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday on St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrants charging her with unauthorized use of an access card and failure to appear.
Demarco was located in the area of David Drive. It was determined that Demarco held active warrants for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and the 16th Judicial District Court. Demarco was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
