HYSON P. MELLO

Hyson P. Mello, 81, died on December 20, 2015 at home as a result of illness. He was a resident of the Aimwell Community close to Jena, Louisiana.
Hyson was born on April 15, 1934 in Abbeville, Louisiana. His parents were Ovey and Henriette Mello He is survived by: his wife, Margaret Mello of Aimwell, LA; his son, John William (Bill) Mello of Phoenix, AZ; his grandson, Ryan Mello of Phoenix, AZ; his brothers, Harley Mello and Bennett Mello of Franklin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. His parents and oldest brother, Douglas, preceded him in death.
Hyson was a retired air conditioning and refrigeration business owner who resided in both Louisiana and Alaska for numerous years. He also owned Mello’s Lounge in Franklin. He also loved and raised American Shorthair Cats, Bengals, Scottish Terriers and Cairn Terriers. He loved his family and pet family very much!
There will be no services as Hyson wished not to have a viewing but to be cremated and his ashes scattered in the places he loved most. His friends and family are asked to just say a prayer, think of fun times spent, and send a kind word/thought up to heaven for him (in other words “be happy and celebrate his life”)! He also wanted to thank each and every friend who crossed his path for being there for him in times of fun and times of heartache. He will be missed and loved by his family and friends; he made the world a better place to live in by being here!
