Police Reports 1-14-16
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Demarcus McNeal, 19, of 214 Arizona St., Apt. 1, Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday at 11:57 a.m. on a warrant charging him with false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, simple battery, aggravated assault and was also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Deputies responded to a report of a 911 hang up call and possible disturbance in the 400 block of Verdun Lane in Verdunville. As deputies arrived in the area, they reportedly observed a male subject force another male subject into a residence and a third male subject fled the area on foot. Deputies ordered the two subjects to exit the residence. Both subjects complied and were detained. One of the subjects was identified as Courtland Francois who was subsequently arrested as previously reported. Continuing the investigation, detectives identified the third subject as McNeal. Evidence gathered by detectives reportedly indicates that McNeal and Francois held a male victim at gunpoint, bound him with duct tape, and dragged him over the ground. All three subjects knew each other. Detectives obtained a warrant for McNeal’s arrest and located him at his residence on Arizona Street. While executing a search warrant on a vehicle McNeal reportedly road in to the residence on Verdun Lane, detectives allegedly located a several bags of marijuana and a handgun where he had been seated in the vehicle. McNeal was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Also, Courtland Francois, 24, of 1015 Belleview St., Bayou Vista, was arrested Wednesday at 1:34 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. No bond was set.
Jarrett J. Picou, 29, of 415 Louisa St., Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday at 12:13 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of possession of oxycodone, possession of alprazolam, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal and no insurance. No bond was set.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Michael Pellicer, 37, of Magnolia Street, Franklin, Wednesday at 8:08 p.m. on a Third Ward Court bench warrant charging him with failure to appear on charges of “turning movements” and required signals. He was released on $200 bond.
The following four arrests stem from a juvenile investigation that started on Jan. 6:
Joaquima Brown, 21, of Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, was charged Wednesday at 1 p.m. on warrants charging him with human trafficking and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and was held on $20,000 bond.
Malik Parker, 18, of Caffery Street, Franklin, was charged Wednesday at 1 p.m. on warrants charging him with human trafficking and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and was released on $20,000 bond.
Derrick Oliver, 38, of Thomas Street, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 3:08 p.m. on charges of human trafficking, prostitution and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. No bond was set.
A 15-year-old female was charged Wednesday with simple criminal damage to property and prostitution. She was released to guardians pending juvenile court.
