Verna Marie Walker, 56, a native of New Orleans and resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Morgan City Health Care at 10:27 p.m.
Visitation will be observed Thursday at Jones Funeral Home, 715 Sixth Street in Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 10 a.m. Evangelist Debra Taylor will officiate the services.
She is survived by three daughters, Tameka Walker-Huntley of Morgan City, Chenell Walker of Houston and Claveyion Montgomery of Chalmette; four brothers, Clarence Walker Jr., Gregory Walker and Joseph Walker, all of New Orleans and Edward Thomas of Las Vegas; one sister, Sandra Wright of New Orleans; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson and one sister.
