ARCHBISHOP LEROY PHILLIPS

Archbishop Leroy Phillips, 71, a resident of Franklin and native of Beaumont, TX, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 2:34 p.m., at the Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, February 13, at the House of Prayer & Christian Fellowship 491 1/2 O’neal Chube Street in Franklin, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m., Bishop Larry Lloyd will officiate the services. Burial will follow funeral services in the Franklin Cemetery on Main Street.
Memories of Archbishop Phillips will forever remain in the hearts of his wife, Bishop Billie Mae Phillips of Franklin; seven sons, Clyde Madison Sr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Reginald Madison of Chesapeake, VA, Anthony Madison of TX, Kevin Madison of Corpus Christi, TX, Dwayne Madison of Lafayette, Michael Cross of FL and Jason Cross of Baldwin; four daughters, Charlotte Marie Madison-Lee of Grand Prairie, TX, Jeanetta Madison-Rudolph of Jeanerette, Mrs. Bradley (Francella Madison-)Hines Jr. of Franklin, Denise Phillips-Hendrix of Alexandria, and Mrs. Roosevelt (Melissa Jack-)Johnson of Lafayette; one brother; Charles Phillips of Beaumont, TX; two sisters, Mrs. John (Minnie) Kaliabul of Beaumont, TX and Geraldine Davis of Austin, TX; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and two sisters.
