ROLAND J. POIMBOEUF

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 11 a.m., in Martin & Castille’s La Fleur de Lis Chapel for Roland J. Poimboeuf, 91, who died on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at his residence in Lafayette.
The Rev. Howard Blessing, pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate the memorial services. Lectors will be Ashleigh Landry and Virginia Poimboeuf.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 67 years, Vita Mae Colletta Poimboeuf; two daughters, Carla Dugas and her husband, Brad, and Laurie Poimboeuf; three sons, Brian Poimboeuf and his wife, Doylene; Barry Poimboeuf and his wife, Corinne; and Keith Poimboeuf; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bernadette Pichof Poimboeuf.
Roland J. Poimboeuf was born in Franklin, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He was a member of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during WWII. While serving in the Air Force, he was a member of the K-9 Cats, the 96 Bomb Group and also the 4 13 Squadron. He worked as a carpenter and as a contractor for many years before his retirement. He was happily married to the love of his life, Vita Mae Colletta, for over 67 years. Mr. Poimboeuf was a good handy man, enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, art and working in his yard. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s SOUTHSIDE Location on Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 9 a.m. to time of services.
