Franklin program updates

City of Franklin Office of Development Director Arlana Shields has released updates on upcoming community programs.
The Bayou Beaux art class schedule is different this year. Two new classes have been added, as well as a new instructor. All classes will take place at City Hall.
The beginner schedule is:
Drawing taught by Jeanne Wattigny: June 1 - 3 from 1 - 4 p.m.
Watercolors taught by Marissa Verrette: June 6 - 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Acrylics taught by Laura Zuniga: June 15 - 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The intermediate schedule:
Portraits taught by Marissa Verrette: June 1 - 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Drawing taught by Jon Eenigenberg: June 7 - 9 form 5 - 8 p.m.
Acrylics taught by Laura Zuniga: June 22 - 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Bayou Beaux Art and Dance Summer Arts Program will host its dance recital and student art show July 23 at The Teche Theatre. The doors will open at 5 p.m. for visitors to view the students’ artwork. The dance recital will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Tickets will be $5 and will go on sale June 1.
The Bayou Beaux Arts and Dance Program is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Acadiana Center for the Arts and by a Community Partnership Grant from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Foundation.
Shields also asked that attendees wear pastel colors to the Seventh Annual Art Walk, which will be Saturday, June 11, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Main Street.
Entry forms for the Seventh Annual Art Walk are available, and will be due by April 29 at noon. Participating artists and authors must be at least 18 years old.
