UBS issues call for blood donors

United Blood Services is experiencing an increased need for all negative blood types: A negative, B negative, AB negative and especially O negative.
Type O negative blood is the only type that can safely be given to patients of all blood types. Trauma center doctors reach for it first when there’s no time to spare.
Only 6 percent of the population has O-negative blood. That puts you in an elite group of people whose donations are critically needed by patients at all times.
UBS is asking people with negative blood types to donate now.
Blood donors who donate in April will receive a $10 Amazon.com gift card through points in our online rewards store and are able to choose a T-shirt from our T-shirt grab bag. Donors can make an appointment to donate by visiting www.bloodhero.com, or by calling 877-UBS-HERO (877-827-4376).
