DOYLE ANTHONY BAILEY
Born: May 21, 1958-Died: May 30, 2016
Doyle Anthony Bailey Sr., 58, a native of Amelia and resident of Livingston, Louisiana, passed away in his home in Livingston on May 30, 2016, after battling lung cancer for 2½ years.
Doyle loved and lived for his wife Shirley Ann Bailey, mother Lily Mae Bailey and family, his children, grandchildren and close friends who were very special to him. Doyle was always ready to help anyone who needed. He was a very caring person with a big heart, always putting others before himself. Working and providing for his family was one of his greatest joys.
Hunting, fishing, traveling and gardening were some of the things he loved to do and he had an appreciation for the outdoors. He made friends everywhere he went. He always would walk his guests to their cars when they were leaving or, when ending a phone call, his words were always “Call me if you need anything my babe, I love you.” Of all the loves of his life, his family came first.
Doyle is survived by his mother, Lilly Mae Bailey; two sons, Doyle Bailey Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Walker, Louisiana, and Ernest Edwards and his wife, Kristina, of Alvin, Texas; and one daughter, Stacie Holbert and her husband, Chris, of Alvin, Texas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Dylan, Hannah, Blayne, Bryan, Daelynn, Chad, Samantha, Hailey, Ian, Jessica, Alyssa, Kayla, Sean and Whitney; and 12 great-grandchildren with one of them on the way (Daecie Ann).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Bailey; father, Raymond John Bailey; brother, Steve Andrew Bailey; and grandson, Gregory Christopher Holbert.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation resumes Friday, June 3, 2016, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 833 Julia St., Amelia, La. 70340 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the St. Andrew Catholic Church Cemetery.
