Mitchell North

Mitchell North Jr., 72, a native of South Carolina and resident of Houma, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016.
Visitation will be Saturday from 8 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2424 Grand Caillou Road. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ann North; mother-in-law; three sons, Mitchell North III of Houma, and Frederick Moses and Michael Davis, both Morgan City; six daughters, Lydia North, Okema Moses, Lawanda Moses, Michelle Davis, Betty Davis and Marie Veal, all of Houma; a brother, Leroy Dyley of Franklin; a sister, Lydia Brown of Morgan City; 28 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
