Tyrone Kimland Johnson, 58, a native of Morgan City, Louisiana, and resident of Oakland, California, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at the Cancer Care Center in Goodyear, Arizona.
Visitation will be Saturday at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 113 Federal Ave., Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until services at 1 p.m., Dr. C.F. Smith Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Marzett Johnson of Oakland, California; his mother, Dorothy Johnson of Morgan City; five sons, Jermond Johnson of Philadelphia, Tranden Hawkins of Parks, Titus Turner of Marksville, Tyrone Turner of Lafayette and Torey Wheeler of Buckeye, Arizona; three daughters, Tyesia Hawkins of Patterson, Terrica Jacobs-Turner of Lafayette and Adrian Johnson of Dallas; two brothers, Joseph Johnson III and Ronald J. Brown, both of Morgan City; one sister, Alisha J. Castillo of Laplace; his godmother; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
