ALBERT WARD

February 1, 1952 — April 3, 2015
Albert Ward, 63, a resident of Bayou L’Ourse and a native of Buchanan County, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Albert was born on Feb. 1, 1952, in Buchanan County, Virginia, the son of Tom and Nora Blankenship Ward.
Albert loved to be in the outdoors fishing or hunting and also loved to watch wrestling. He was a man who enjoyed spending time with his family, but especially loved spending time with his two dogs, Shorty and Miley.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Marleen Ward of Patterson; three daughters, Lisa Ward and Cynthia Ward, both of Raven, Virginia, and Jessica Ward of Bayou L’Ourse; three stepchildren, Geraldine Soto of Morgan City, Gerald Guillory of Bayou Vista and Darlene Frye of Patterson; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Ward of North Carolina and Needom Ward of Virginia; and one sister, Nancy Ward of Virginia.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Sam Citrano; and four brothers, Sammy Ward, James Ward, Melvin Ward and Frank Ward.
A visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Honaker Funeral Home in Honaker, Virginia, with the funeral service being held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the funeral home. Following the services, Albert will be laid to rest in the Blankenship-Rowe Cemetery in Rowe, Virginia.
