HENRY ‘SATIN’ FELDER
A Home-Going Celebration will be held for Henry “Satin” Felder, 73, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church in New Iberia, with the Rev. Shawn Watson officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Zion Travelers Baptist Church Cemetery in New Iberia.
A gathering of family and friends will be at the Star Pilgrim Baptist Church on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Born in Lafayette, a native of Franklin, and a resident of Olivier, LA, he passed at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Iberia Medical Center. He was baptized by the Rev. Ulysses Mitchell on March 20, 1994 and joined Little Zorah Baptist Church in 1998 under Pastor Shawn Watson.
He leaves to cherish his memory and in God’s care, his wife of 19 years, Eula Williams Felder; eight children, Erica Sorrell, Tracey Placide, Nevelyn McDonald, Clara Mitchell, Brandon Butler, Robert McDaniel, and Nettie Willis; one step-daughter Erica (Joseph) Brown; 15 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Diana (Albert) Alexander, Cleotha (Edward “Sippy) Joseph, and Willie Mae Johnson (William); one brother, Rodney Tillman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He now joins in glory with his mother, Francis Simpson Tillman and father, Thomas “Tom” Tillman, his brothers, John Felton, Thomas “Tommy” Tillman Jr., Leroy Tillman, and Harry Francis; sons, Thearon McDonald, and Darrin Felder; one grandson, Trent Hayword Jr.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other relatives.
Active pallbearers, Percy Williams Jr., Devin Brown, Derrick Kelly, Christopher Guilbeau, Alonzo D. Alexander and Rodney Tillman Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Rodney Tillman Sr., Albert A. Alexander, Mitchell Davis, Kenny McDaniel, Frederick Williams, Percy Williams Sr., Glenn Wiltz, Joseph Brown, Gary Hanes, LZBC Soldiers for Christ; nephews, and neighborhood Friends in Franklin and Olivier.
