IRVIN 'JOE' JOSEPH AUCOIN

March 2, 1940-March 1, 2016
Irvin “Joe” Joseph Aucoin Sr., a native of Napoleonville and a resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Irvin would have been 76 years old today, Wednesday, March 2.
Irvin was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for 39 years before his retirement in 2004. His retirement allowed him to tend to the love of his life, his wife, Rachael “Penny” Charlesia Givens Aucoin, until her death in 2006.
Irvin was a proud member of Bethel Pentecostal Church of Patterson. Those who knew Irvin could attest to him being the kindest, most considerate, caring and forgiving gentleman in the parish.
Irvin, better known as IDay to his family, leaves to cherish his memory, his sister-in-law, Ellen Givens Crawford and her husband, Jack, of Conen, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; along with his best buddy, Landon Sir Dog.
Irvin was reunited in heaven with his wife; his parents, Elvin Felix “Van” Aucoin and Aurelia Tardiff Aucoin; two sisters and their husbands, Marguerite and Preston Rodriguez, and Marie and LeRoy Foreman; his in-laws, Charles and Rachael Bosarge Givens; and his brother-in-law, Charles Givens Jr.
Irvin was also reunited with his son, Irvin “Chico” Aucoin Jr., who tragically passed away in a sky diving accident Feb. 14, 1987, at the age of 23.
The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Irvin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
